Beechcraft Staggerwing D-17S
Beechcraft Staggerwing D-17S/6914

It’s not just the look–the asymmetrical wing design, lush interior, brash and beautiful color schemes–that make this bi-plane a collector’s dream. A bull in a mink coat, the Beechcraft Staggerwing was the 1930s “Learjet” for executives, a soldier in several wars, a winning racer, and an everyday civilian worker. Our Model D17S began its career in 1944 at Sandpoint Air Naval Station in Seattle WA, a stone’s throw from Paine Field. After military service, the plane spent decades flying in Canada and the United States for civilians, did star-quality museum time, and then flew back west for a full restoration.
