Today we visited the Marine Hotel on the grounds of Royal Troon Golf Club, a frequent host for the British Open. Some of our crew bought souvenirs for the golfers in their circles. A links course, we watched several foursomes play abeam our lunch table. It seems mere mortals are allowed to pay 250 quid for a nice walk by the sea. I remember from past British Opens, the masonry walls on the green side of sand bunkers. They resemble castle walls with moats below. Truly evil.

We enjoyed our last evening in our Prestwick accommodations, toasting the many American airmen who preceded us.
